A Tribute to Harold Ramis

Harold Ramis passed away today at the age of 69. He is probably most famous for his role as Dr. Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters and as a co-writer of the film. But he was more than just that. He was a comedy god and you might not even know it. He directed three of arguably the funniest films of all time; Caddyshack, National Lampoon's Vacation, & Groundhog Day. In addition to that he co-wrote Animal House, Meatballs, Stripes, and Back to School.

Dr. Egon Spengler & the Ghostbusters affected my childhood greatly, and as evidenced by my avatar, still affects my adulthood. He'll always be the guy who collects spores, molds, & fungus.

The guy who told me about the Twinkie.

The guy who straightened his Slinky.

The guy with the corniest line in Ghostbusters 2, but his charm makes it work.

And most importantly, told me "Don't cross the streams" because "It would be bad."

Rest in peace Harold Ramis. You will be greatly missed.
