Star Wars 8-Bit Cinema
Are you tired of Star Wars yet? If not then take a look at CineFix's latest 8-Bit Cinema creation, dedicated to the Star Wars Original Trilogy. The one that started it all is told in "Legend of Zelda" style, The Empire Strikes Back is given the Mega Man treatment, and Return of the Jedi looks like a fun "Golden Axe" or "Final Fight" type game. And that music just takes me back to simpler times. Where can I play this?!?

Transformers Devastation Is All About Nostalgia
Transformers: Devastation looks to be the badass offspring of the G1 cartoon series and Devil May Cry. Add to that the original voice actors, and you've got a healthy dose of nostalgia mixed in with a lot of hack and slash combo action. Just check out the latest gameplay trailer and you'll see these Autobots know kung fu!

Kung Fury
When a movie is unintentionally bad, it can be the worst thing to watch in the world. See almost any Michael Bay film. But when it's intentionally made to be bad, it's amazing (and a little weird) just how good it can be. Such is the case with Kung Fury, a short indie film by Laser Unicorns that was funded on Kickstarter. Drawing much inspiration from 80's films, Kung Fury is a cop who goes back in time to kill Hitler. The video premiered yesterday and already has over 3 million views. Just watch it and enjoy the ridiculousness and the nostalgia. =D

The Matrix 8-Bit Cinema
I really love CineFix's 8-Bit Cinema. It's a great twist giving relatively modern movies a nostalgic edge by hurtling them back in time to the games I grew up with. And they're done so well! Their latest creation is The Matrix, and everything's here; choosing the pill, the jump, the square-off with Agent Smith, and more! I think the car chase in Reloaded could also be turned into something akin to Pole Position, and Revolutions? Well let's just forget about Revolutions...

KILL BILL 8-Bit Cinema
The folks over at CineFix have done it again. A few months ago, they gave the 8-Bit Cinema treatment to Fight Club. Now they've done it again to Kill Bill and the results are marvelous. It's in the style of Karateka, Shinobi, and Bruce Lee, and I want to play this so badly. The video takes you through all the fights spanning the two movies, and there's even a mini-game based on escaping the coffin. Watch this and tell me you don't want to play it.

Carnegie Hall Does Cartoons
Ready for a blast from the past orchestra style? Here we have the Carnegie Hall Ensemble Orchestra performing a mashup of 43 different cartoon theme songs. How many can you recognize and name? I may have to turn in my nerd card as I was only able to identify 28 of the 43, and that was with the help of some of the cleverly placed visual clues. Even if you don't know all the themes, it's a very fun video and is a great walk down memory lane. Just try to listen to this and not be compelled to go down the YouTube rabbit hole of cartoon themes.

The First Rule of 8-Bit Fight Club Is:
You do not talk about 8-Bit Fight Club. But this is more 16-Bit, so I'm gonna go ahead and talk about it. CineFix turned Fight Club into Streets of Rage, complete with penguin slide, fat stealing, and starting a fight with a stranger scenario. It's obviously not real, but looks like it would be a fun co-op game. CineFix has a ton of other 8-Bit Cinema mashups including Pulp Fiction whose funniest bit is how they turned injecting adrenaline into Mia much like making a field goal, and The Dark Knight which is turned into a top-down Legend of Zelda game. And they all have great 8-bit music. Check them out!
