The Battle of the Five Armies Trailer Breakdown

It's only a few short weeks before we take our last trip to Middle Earth in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, the third and final chapter in The Hobbit series of movies. And now here's the final trailer.

And how about a closer look?

"Thorin, you gave a promise." Were sneaky & greedy ever dwarves in fairy tales?

It's not a good night for Lake-town as Bard can only watch it burn.

"You brought upon them only ruin and death." Feeling any guilt there Thorin?!?

This is a fine looking company of dwarves.

Thorin's greed has taken hold as he prepares to defend the mountain against the Wood-elves and men of Lake-town

"I came to reclaim something of mine." You know, the easiest way to beat this guy is to challenge him to a dance off.

"This was the last move in a master plan. A plan long in the making." As armies of goblins and wargs march on, that plan is still going to continue in Lord of the Rings.

"These bats are bred for one purpose. For war." And they shall blot out the sun!

Galadriel kisses a fallen Gandalf, and Lord Elrond prepares for battle. That's the one thing about prequels. You know ALL of these guys survive.

"Leave Sauron to me." Ummm... that's actually the worst idea ever...

"Bilbo is right. You cannot see what you have become." Spoiler alert. Thorin's kind of a dick in this movie.

"Everything I did, I did for them." That's exactly what a dick would say.

"You started this. You will forgive me if I finish it." Seriously. Two words. Dance. Off.

"When faced with death, what can anyone do?" Run? Hide? Fight? You've also got that nifty little ring of yours.

They have a cave troll. An army of them in fact!

"I will not hide when others fight our battles for us!" Kili could have a long career as a motivational speaker.

Poor Lake-town. Not so poor Master & Alfrid.

Love story between Kili and Tauriel. FYI, this never happens in the book. In fact Tauriel doesn't even exist. Not that I mind...

Something tells me I'm not getting that dance off I wanted...

Bard holding on for dear life.

Sad Tauriel.

"You have but one question to answer. How shall this day end?!?" Doesn't resonate as much as "You shall not pass!" But it'll do.

Legolas. The most badass of elves.

Time to disappear.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies opens December 12th in the UK and December 17th in the US.
