24: Getting Caught Up

By now you've all probably seen the teaser trailer for 24: Live Another Day. (Kind of like James Bond's Die Another Day, I see what you did there FOX) And it really was just a tease of Jack helping Chloe walk through chaos in the streets of London while Jack fires his gun and screams at someone off-screen. For a show that prides itself on its real-time story telling gimmick, a slo-mo promo is... different. Anyway, it's been 4 years since we last saw Jack, so let's get caught up a bit...

Jack is obviously on the run and he's trying to stop another terrorist attack, this time in London. From the looks of the promo, it doesn't really look like he's successful. But, as always, Jack still has help.

Chloe O'Brian has been helping Jack out since Season 3 when she was just a senior analyst. By the end of Season 8, Chloe who became the acting director of CTU was still helping Jack out, this time by shutting off the drone monitoring him so he could escape the country. On the Season 8 DVD bonuses, it is revealed that Chloe was arrested by the FBI for her involvement with Jack's escape. She somehow ends up in London, she's got the whole cyberpunk/Hackers/goth look going, and she's still helping Jack out.

The last time we saw Audrey Raines, (played by Kim Raver) was in Season 6 when she was rescued from her Chinese captors and was pretty much catatonic. She returns in Live Another Day along with her father, former Secretary of Defense and now President James Heller, played by William Devane. President Heller and his administration are most likely visiting London, and Jack is probably trying to warn them of the impending attack.

Joining 24: Live Another Day will be Mark Boudreau, Audrey's new husband and the White House Chief of Staff, played by Tate Donovan. Yvonne Strahovski will be playing Kate Morgan, a CIA field operative, and I'm sure she'll do a great job since she cut her teeth and kicked much ass on Chuck. And finally, Benjamin Bratt will play Steve Harris, the head of the CIA operation tracking Jack in London. Any bets on whether any of these people will be the inevitable mole?

24: Live Another Day will be told in 12 real time episodes, but will still represent 24 hours. So basically they're cutting off the fat, and leaving us the meat. No more Dana Walsh & her double life. No more Teri Bauer getting amnesia. No more Kim Bauer being a CTU analyst. No more Kim Bauer being chased by a mountain lion. You know what? How about no more Kim Bauer... period...

24: Live Another Day and Jack Bauer return Monday May 5th, on FOX with episodes 12pm-1pm and 1pm-2pm.
